ENERGY AUDIT

Energy Audit is a systematic assessment and analysis of all energy systems and airflow of a house.

Purpose of an Energy Audit

  • An Energy Audit is a systematic assessment of all energy systems and airflow throughout the entire house, including insulation, appliances, fireplace, windows and doors.
  • The purpose of an Energy Audit is to identify opportunities for reducing energy consumption and improving energy savings.
  • An Energy Audit helps pinpoint where the structure is using excessive energy and what you can do to save money.
  • An Energy Auditor will assess health and safety issues that might exist in your home.  The Audit involves 2 parts: the assessment and the analysis.

What we do:

The house as a system:

  1. A Blower Door test is performed:  The results provide homeowners and builders with a basis for identifying where air leakage is occurring - such as around windows, doors and attic access. Addressing such leaks can lead to reduced energy consumption, lower utility bills and enhanced indoor comfort.
  2. Infrared Camera views show gaps and air leaks, particularly around doors and windows. Quickly detects sources of heating and cooling loss.
  3. In existing buildings infrared can evaluate and verify proper insulation, electrical, mechanical and concrete structures for defects.
  4. A moisture meter can find leaks that cause mold and health problems.
  5. Visual inspection of windows and doors.  Checking ducts, mechanical equipment, filters and appliances.
  6. We identify opportunities and provide recommendations for energy and cost savings with a detailed report.
